Hindustan Times (or HT as it is popularly known as) was founded in 1924 by Master Sunder Singh Lyallpuri, and inaugrated by Mahatma Gandhi.

In February 2007,HT Media has also launched a national business newspaper, Mint, with an exclusive agreement with Wall Street Journal to publish Journal branded news and information in India.

HT Media, through its subsidiary HT Music and Entertainment Company Ltd., has entered the FM radio market in key Indian cities through a consulting partnership with Virgin Radio.
