This is a documentation subpage for Template:HSW (see that page for the template itself).
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

[edit] Usage

This template has two required arguments. The first is the page name on HowStuffWorks (excluding the .htm), the second one is the name you wou would like to use. For instance,

{{HSW|page=wiki|name=How Wikis work}}

renders How Wikis work at HowStuffWorks.

There is also an "author" optional argument. Its use is as follows:

{{HSW|page=wiki|name=How Wikis work|author=Doe, John}}

which renders Doe, John. How Wikis work at HowStuffWorks.

Note that this should typically be used in the "External Links" section of a page.
