The HSS-114D Hyper-Spectral Scanner (EO) is a fictional hyper-spectral scanner that measures target reflections across a continuous spectrum. It is described in the Andromeda science fiction television series.
Suspected camouflaged or obscured targets can be tested with an active EM sensor to improve accuracy in high-threat environments. It works both ways as it can create a camouflage of sorts by measuring target reflection from behind the camouflaged object to project an image onto the camouflaged object. The scanner can be portabalized to be carried around on a suit, even if it is slightly bulky.
