From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Howard Benson (born in Havertown, Pennsylvania) is a Grammy nominated music producer and aerospace engineer.[1]

Benson attended Lower Merion High School until his graduation in 1974, he then went on to attend Drexel University receiving a B.S. in Materials Engineering in 1980. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer and a Process Engineer until 1984.[2]

Audio engineer Mike Plotnikoff often works with Benson. In the words of Cold drummer Sam McCandless: "The band had been playing with Manson and Staind, so I wanted the drums to sound huge," he explains, "like dump trucks falling from the sky. Howard and Mike got that right away, and since it usually takes a week or two to get the drum tracks down, I was blown away."
