Maldek or anyone else who wants to put the hottest artificial temperature on this page, please do the following:

1) Give it its own section (see Coldest temperature recorded on Earth for a great example of how this can work).

2) CITE YOUR SOURCES. Make sure you include the ref in the appropriate spot in the text, footnote-linked to the full citation in the References section

3) Wikilink your contribution (e.g. to the Z machine)

Well 3.6 billion degrees is the hottest temperature recorded on Earth. I already acknowledge 136 degrees as the hottest natural temperature recorded on Earth. Maybe you should put that information on the hottest natural temperature recorded on Earth section, or make one.Maldek (talk) 00:42, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

OK, I put it in with ref.s No new section needed yet, but if someone wants to do a history of record-setting artificial high temperature readings, that would need a separate section. And if someone can explain the mechanics of this (how the z-machine created such a high temp, how a temperature hotter than the center of the sun can be measured, how it doesn't melt the Z machine itself, etc.), that would need another section, too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fredwerner (talk • contribs) 06:49, 12 June 2008 (UTC) Oh, and I removed the clean-up tag.
