Talk:Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following is misleading:

'Although some people would assume that The Billboard Hot 100 and the Adult Contemporary (AC) chart are the same thing, they are not. The AC chart lists only pop/contemporary songs, while the Hot 100 includes songs from every genre.'

Surely the reason A/C is different to the Hot 100 is that is monitors A/C stations, whereas the Hot 100 monitors all radio stations and sales. A Hip-Hop song (for example) could chart if it was played on A/C.

I think this topic should be merged with the Adult Contemporary topic.

I think this section should be deleted completely. The Hot AC chart is extremely different from the Billboard Hot 100, anyone who follows the charts today knows that. Just look at the current chart for the week of 06-23, only 3 songs in the top 20 of the Hot AC chart are even in the top 50 of the Hot 100 (The Sweet Escape, Home, and Before He Cheats are the only ones). This alone shows how different these two charts are. And the current #1 on Hot Ac is Waiting on the World Change, but that fell off the Hot 100 weeks ago. I don't see how anyone could get the two charts confused, and for now I'm going to delete this section, especially since its not even sourced, seems like original research to me.
