I would like my page to start by giving praise to anyone who loves race horses.I see racing falling off the face of the earth so fast that it scares me.It seems now that only grand standing horses make the big news now.None of the telecasters say much about the old champions any more.even as close back as 2001.Everyone knows secretariat broke the kentucky derby record going under 2:oo with the still record of 159:2/5.He was the first to do so.And you may even know Sham went under 2:00 also!but did you know that in 2001 a horse named monarchos won in a time of 159:and change.Yet no one ever says his name.A lot of you talk of onion.How he was great.But have you heard of John Henry lately? There are so many great horses out there to talk of yet the broadcasters never say diddly.Have you ever seen win,place or show? You can buy it from the history channel.It shows how it all began.It even shows man of war in his casket after he died.It goes back that far.It will tell you how racing horses really came from just 2 or 3 arabians and you can track the bloodlines back to them.Well my point is easy.Bold ruler was the sire of secretariat.Through wikipedia you can see his bloodline goes horse by horse 22 generations back to the original Darley Arabian.WOW!!! Thats great homework guys.Now you know in fact that Secretariat is a 23rd generation.So was Seattle Slew and a bunch more.You should look at the lines from all of them.And now today they are still looped in together.I think so many people try to judge a horse by winning the triple crown Or just the K.Y. derby.If you do that you will lose out on some nice horses.My example is Manarchos.Come on! He won the derby in under 2:00.Can you honestly say you knew that? As a race horse fan you need to! Dont just bring talk abought Secretariat and Man O War Give your love to all of them.I think Secretariat is the greatest to ever live.I cant say man o war was the second best with such greatness as Bold ruler and Citation or even smarty jones out there who was also a grandson of Secrateriat.Even geldings who rose to the challenge like John Henry and Funnycide.When they talk of funny they spend two and a half of the three min. on him abought the whip thats proven not to be electric.and nothing of how well he ran in the K Y or the Preakness and only how he lost the belmont.Do you see a pattern?All of us should send e-mails make calls and make a difference in how all horses are remembered.And real quick.Did you know that all horses when they die that their head is cut off or there legs are cut off or hart is cut out and just one of those are buried.It is called the greatest honor by us to burey them whole.What is up with that.Cremate all of the horse or burey all of him!! How do you want to be DISPOSED of when your time is over????Love them all.Yes have your favorite.Brag all you can on them.Just remember every day at some track a horse breaks his leg and is killed right there on the spot.Now if you win the Ky and Preak.And then break your leg they will try to save you.Spend millions to do so Like Barbaro.Did him breaking down on TV stir your heart.Did the way a whole country stood behind him and prayed for him to live touch you?Did his death nearly break your heart? well welcome to being a horse lover.Make calls!help charities find homes for them.If you have one acre of land you can help.Even if its just short term adoption.Help them all And Love them all.You can make a difference.Even just using wikipedia you can find out so much abought facts and help save the history of so many.I would love to hear back from you.Horsedawg
