In 2002, the Hopewell Vikings Football team altered the course of the township's history with a stunning PIAA AAA Championship win over Strath Haven.

Until this season, the Vikings hadn't won a championship of any type in football. The township rejoiced in the accomplishment, as players were part of a parade down the community's main thoroughfare.

Though the Vikings haven't won a championship since, the pride the community and it's team earned will notn soon be forgotten.

In 2006, the Hopewell High Lady Vikings landed their first PIAA State championship in basketball.
