The Hong Kong Union for Young Leaders (HKUYL) is a non-profit making, student-based organization based in Hong Kong, registered under the Societies Ordinance (REF.CP/LIC/SO/19/10188).

The Union was established in October 1992. It aims at seeking out, recognizing and nurturing the leadership abilities of secondary school students. This is done through various activities including seminars, social service projects and training camps, and by providing them exposure to recognized leaders in today’s society. Besides sharpening students’ leadership skills, the Union also aims at making students aware of the problems within the community and in the process, promoting a sense of commitment and dedication to their own society.

The major highlight of the Union is the annual Hong Kong Youth Leadership Seminar, a four-day leadership training camp, in which two students with exhibited leadership potential from each member school are chosen to participate in. Through numerous seminars, discussions, workshops and group games, participants learn about the different aspects of leadership, including effective communication, motivating people and setting goals. By bringing together elite students in the secondary schools in Hong Kong, the camp also helps to build an extensive network of lifetime friendship among the potential leaders. Moreover, four outstanding students will be nominated to participate in Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation World Leadership Congress (HOBY WLC), which takes place in America every summer. Excellent young leaders from all over the world will gather for meaningful cultural exchanges, as well as the building of international friendship.
