Montae Russell is an American actor.
Biography:
Montae Russell is a native of Pittsburgh, Pa, who graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors in Communication, and went on to earn his MFA in Theatre from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
He has guest starred in several television shows – most recently Cold Case and The Riches and has also been seen on ER for fourteen seasons as Paramedic Zadro. His film and cable credits include The Player’s Club, HBO’s Laurel Avenue, and TNT’s Lily in Winter opposite Natalie Cole. His theater credits include Broadway productions of August Wilson’s King Hedley II, Prelude to a Kiss, several Off Broadway and Los Angeles productions, as well as many regional theatres in which he has performed in 7 of the 10 August Wilson plays. He recently performed in the historical August Wilson 20th Century Cycle Play Readings at the Kennedy Center.
Montae has also written and directed several short films, including Something For Nothing, which won awards in 7 film festivals. He’s currently shopping around his latest screenplay, I Was A Teenage Art Thief, which he plans as his feature-film directing debut.
