A quick google search reveals the answer to this excellent question: The east portal end is at 945 m elevation; this is the highest end, the road runs 1270 m at approximately 1:10 gradient down to the western portal. Now all we need is some trigonemtry to figure out the altitude of the western portal and the mean altitude of teh entire tunnel ... Ppe42 03:28, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
