While injuries restricted Holy Roller's career to a relatively small number of starts, he was an enormously popular racehorse, and I think people are often interested in horses who, as well as being talented, have something special or unusual about them - in Holy Roller's case, of course, this was his size. As with many racehorses whose names are associated with something else - in this case, religious beliefs - it is not easy to find information about them on the web, but in any case, I think Holy Roller was a notable horse.
