I think that it should be mentioned in the text that Holly has made the unusual move of using her mother's surname (at least professionally) instead of the surname of her father, the author Humphry Knipe.

This is probably because Holly's mother is the noted photographer Suze Randall, and they both work as photographers of nude & semi-nude women.

Most daughters of famous women use their father's surname until they get married, or even beyond that. For example, actress/singer/dancer Liza Minelli is the daughter of actress/singer Judy Garland and the noted John Minelli, and actress/model Isabelli Rossellini is the daughter of actress Ingrid Bergman and the noted film director Roberto Rossellini.

On the other hand, actress Anne Lockhart ("Battlestar Galactia") is the daughter of actress June Lockhart and John F. Maloney (aka Dr. John Lindsay), who were divorced in 1959. Anne was also marrited to Mr. Adam Taylor, and bore two children, but sadly, Mr. Taylor was killed in an automobile accident in 1994. Their two children are known by "Taylor", though Anne Lockhart has never used "Taylor" professionally.

Oddly, as far as I know, neither June Lockhart nor Anne Lockhart has ever remarried.
