Holy Cross High School is a High school, located in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
[edit] History of Holy Cross
Holy Cross High School was founded in 1984. Preceded by the all-female Angela Merici High School, and the all-male Bishop David High School, Holy Cross joins the best of both of these traditions in Catholic coeducation, the only one of its kind in Jefferson County.[1] This alternative for Catholic family education is an Archdiocesan High School accredited by the State of Kentucky.
[edit] The Campus Today
Located on 23 acres of land at 5144 Dixie Highway in Southwest Jefferson County, the campus consists of a building containing classrooms, administrative offices, art and graphic design studios, three science labs, a media center which includes a library, two computer labs, and a word processing lab. The building also houses locker rooms and specialized faculty and guidance/counseling areas. Three tennis courts, a fieldhouse equipped with weight training facilities and locker space, a softball/baseball complex, football stadium, and a paved track complete the present facilities.
[edit] Notes and references
- ^ However, this was not the first coeducational Roman Catholic high school in Louisville. The previously all-boys' Flaget High School merged with the all-girls Loretto High School in 1973 at the Flaget campus, but that school closed permanently in 1974. Pillow, John C..
