Holly J. Sinclair is a fictional character on the Canadian television drama Degrassi: The Next Generation the younger sister, Heather Sinclair. Holly J. is the wannabe Queen Bee of Degrassi. There is a webisode entitled "Queen Bees" featuring both Paige and Holly J. She makes her first appearance in the seventh season premiere and is portrayed by Charlotte Arnold.
Holly J. is portrayed as a typical wannabe High School "Queen Bee". She is rude, sarcastic, and at times cruel to other students. Holly J.'s personality is almost identical to that of Paige Michalchuk, with the exception that Holly J. is seen as being more heartless and short tempered than Paige.
[edit] Character history
After Lakehurst burns down, Holly J. attends Degrassi. She exhibits ill-humor and arrogance, cloaking it with a pleasant and somewhat-preppy appearance. Her best friend is Anya, who follows Holly J.'s every move and has turned down Mia's attempts to separate the two. Holly J. quickly becomes enemies with Degrassi students Manny and Darcy after an incident in the cafeteria that almost ended in a cat-fight. Holly J. is also unaware that Lakehurst's and Degrassi's spirit squads—which she, Manny, and Darcy all belong to—will merge into one squad, which leads to more conflicts.
One of Holly J.'s main story lines involves a rift between herself and Mia when the two are forced to share a locker with one another. The two argue over many things, one of which is Sav when the girls both show interest in him. Later on in the series, Mia attempts to make a move on Sav, and the two kiss. Holly J. later reveals to her that Sav is actually interested in Anya instead.
Eventually, the rivalry between Holly J. and Mia reaches a climax due to Holly J.'s disapproval of Mia being a teenage mother, which prompts Mia to evict Holly J. from her locker.
Later on in the series, Holly J. falls for Toby Isaacs after he agrees to tutor her in Algebra. Toby is mutually attracted to Holly J. until they are seen together by Anya MacPherson, which reminds Holly J. of her social status and causes her to insult Toby. Holly J. then tries to explain to Anya that she is attracted to him and that "they" (She, Anya, and their clique) like Toby. Holly J. then proceeds to apologize to Toby and explain that she is willing to lower her standards and date him, which backfires and causes Toby to reject her accusing her and her friends of being "shallow". Holly J. reacts by calling Anya and telling her they needed to discuss their "Dependence on Boys".
