Holler Blues is the designation given to blues sung in the ‘holler style’. The genesis of the term "holler" can be found in the acapella style of the pre civil war musical mode known as Field holler[s]. Often, the songs are hollered as much as they are sung.
New York City street busker and blues musician Brownbird Rudy Relic is a purveyor of said music. He is credited with the term’s genesis.
