Holcim is one of the world's leading suppliers of cement[3] and aggregates (crushed stone, sand and gravel) as well as further activities such as ready-mix concrete and asphalt including associated construction services. Like its major global competitor, Lafarge, Holcim is a major consumer of fossil fuels, particularly coal, which is essential to the cement making process.
