Um, how could the Hochschule have been "the hub of the international music scene" during the Weimar Republic (1918-1933) when it wasn't founded until 1950??? Angr (talkcontribs) 22:06, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

  • It existed prior to 1950 as the Hochschule für Musik Berlin Paradiso 03:08, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
The article says it was the UdK that was previously the Hochschule für Musik Berlin. Angr (talkcontribs) 11:20, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
I can resolve this. The "Weimar" reference was to the (West) Berlin College of Music, which was indeed a major conservatory during the Weimar Republic. The "German College of Music" in (East) Berlin was established in 1950 because the older "College of Music" was in the western part of the city. So I removed the reference to the Weimar-era institution: it ought to be placed in the article about the Berlin "University of the Arts" if there is one in the English Wikipedia. --langohio 00:39, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
