Hochschule Liechtenstein

The Hochschule Liechtenstein is one of the two centres for higher education in the principality of Liechtenstein.

It was founded in 1967 mainly for the teaching of economics and as an evening technical school which later evolved into the Liechtenstein School of Engineering.
In 1992 the establishment was formally recognised as a Professional school.
In 2005 the school became a university by law. This included further extensions of the school and research programs (PhD) with other universities. The demand for a university comes from the highly specialized Small-and Medium Enteprises and the finance industry in this area.
The university offers also Bachelors and Masters degrees according to the Bologna process.
In 2008 the university become the right to confer the Doctorate/PhD. Those degrees are recognized by the European Union, too.

Currently the university has around 900 students.
The university currently offers an extensive Architecture Program in the Form of a Bachelor & Master of Science in Architecture Degree. Another focus are the programs in business administration and information systems, in particular for the finance industry.
