[edit] Collage
Hello! There are several problems with the additional photographs you added to the collage. The picture of Botrous Ghali is fair use which basically means it's not free to be used in a collage like this. The Zewail picture is also lacking copyright information and will very likely be deleted from Wikipedia soon. Another issue is the subjects portrayed in the collage. We have tried to strike a balance between the people represented based on gender, historical period, and profession. You have added 5 more men to the collage, which completely tips the balance between the number of women and men, with 4 of the men being politicians. This would bring the total number of politicians to 5 with Saad Zaghlul. We also need to strike a balance between the number of contemporary Egyptians, and those from medieval, Graeco-Roman and ancient periods. The other main issue is the portrayal of Nasser and Sadat. In the past, we have tried to stay away from controversial figures in order to avoid disputes. If we include one or both of them, someone will complain that Mubarak or the other two presidents are not in the picture. Others will simply complain based on political orientation. Saad Zaghlul however is about the least controversial for a political figure; whether one supports Nasser or Sadat, hardly anyone questions Zaghlul. In fact, there used a picture of some pop star that garnered so much heated opposition from some editors that eventually it had to be removed. I can only imagine what it would be like for a controversial politician to be included. Imhotep and Hawass are definitely good choices as no one would probably object to these, but the most important thing to keep in mind is finding suitable pictures that are completely free. If we are going to include these, we would need suggestions of other women as well. Best, — Zerida ☥ 21:29, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
