[edit] Somebody help me please!!!
In Hitman: Codename 47 directory I've found a file named "resources.xml" (C:\Hitman - Codename 47\Setup\Locale\language-English.zip). There are all the game dialogues, mission briefings and all the game's text. In that file, I've found some really weird sentences, that aren't involved in the game, or I couldn't find them anywhere in the game... They are:
- (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Freeze - let me see some ID! Real slow now!"
- (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Hey - you there. Stand still! Who are you?"
- (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Stop! Police - identify yourself!"
- (Possibly in "The Setup" mission) "Tango 6 - 3 Delta - 1 Yankee. Proceed with caution. Suspect is armed and dangerous!" (maybe a talk between SWAT members)
- (Possibly in "Meet Your Brother" mission) "You - along with your brothers - are my true children. Now rid me of that rambunctious renegade!" (maybe a talk between Ort. Meyer and Mr. 48 clones)
There are many other sentences too, but I'm most worried about these mission descriptions in laptop:
- (Possibly at the end of the game) "Your mission is over. Surrender your self to the police and await further instructions. We will contact you. Diana"
- (Possibly at the end of the game) "ABORT - ABORT - ABORT RETURN TO BASE IMPENDING DANGER THE AGENCY WILL DISAVOW YOU RETURN IMMEDIATELY"
- (Possibly at the end of the game) "ABORT - ABORT - ABORT SEVERE DANGER DO NOT ATTEMPT FURTHER ADVANCES THIS IS AN ORDER"
Everybody knows that when 47 kills Ort. Meyer, the game is over, and there's no after mission description in laptop. What are those sentences?
Write everything in the world you know about this sentences, please! I'm in turmoil for this problem since 2002! I WILL AWARD THE USER THAT HELPS ME SOLVING THIS PROBLEM! --Aeternus 17:27, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- Many games leave content on the game disc to some degree even if it isn't actually used- due to production vagarities it's often easier to leave unused material there. A notable example is Konami's Metal Gear Solid 2, where an entire sequence was cut due to post-9/11 issues. The dialogue for the sequence can be found in the game's code. Odds are alternate endings or additional dialogue were planned but never recorded (possibly time or budget issues with the English audio team). Hyperspacey 03:34, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Add a tactics overview section?
Anyone mind if I add a small section or tactics used during a typical mission? Just to provide a taste of the stealth elements within the game? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Roswell Crash Survivor (talk • contribs) 17 September 2006
- It really doesn't belong in Wikipedia... It seems rather strange compared to all the other pages about the same games. I suggest merging the targets into a story section. --ABigBlackMan 9 October 2006
[edit] A certain piece of Trivia
A user keeps posting up this piece of trivia:
- "The first cutscene shows Agent 47 killing SWAT police officers and orderlies in the insane asylum from the first game and also shows the place abandoned and littered with bodies. In Hitman Contracts, Agent 47 escapes the asylum wearing a SWAT police officer disguise after SWAT police surround the place. Killing the SWAT officers and orderlies is not mandatory and it is recommended that 47 not kill police officers. The SWAT officers killed the orderlies. 47 is only required to kill 10 clones and two targets. Hitman 2 Silent Assassin also recommends that 47 refrain from killing police officers so there is a continuity problem."
I'm not trying to attack anyone in anyway, but this is practically random gibberish. All this is true, except for the statement saying that there is a continuity problem. Pretty much all of the series' games refrain from killing police officers, and the first cutscene is showing past camera footage of 47 killing SWAT officers, footage dating back to 2000, before the events of Silent Assassin and during the events of Codename 47. Plus, for example, Blood Money ask you to refrain from killing civilians, yet in the games final mission, it requires you to kill 2 practically innocent bystanders, the reporter and the priest, who was truly innocent; 47 breaks the "rules" in order to defend himself, as was the situation in Silent Assassin's first scene, also known as the first level in Contracts.
I'm new to Wikipedia, so I wouldn't want to start off with getting into a whole lot of trouble by breaking rules, and I also don't feel like getting into a "Edit War", as I heard it was called. If you guys wish to keep, thats perfectly fine to me. I just want someone who truly knows what their doing to look into this and fix it. --- BishopTutu 01:56, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Some Weird Trivia
In the scene where you have to kill the hacker in the basement the floor is littered with empty pizza-boxes with the text "Pizza med ægte lort", meaning (in danish) "pizza with real turd/shit on it".
