The theme focuses on the main characters obsession with world domination and on their lack of success in doing so. Also, many historical jokes appear, with Latin phrases or geographical cues making small appereances. Although the WWII is mentioned, due to the light humor tone of the strip there are no references to Hitler's racist ideology or the nazi holocaust.

[edit] Characters

Hitlercito An obvious spoof on Hitler. Although there are many coincidences between him and the historical Hitler, it is more accurately to consider him a construct. The character behaves in an extremely dignified manner which contrasts with his lack of success and his failure in obtaining respect from his peers.

Julius Caesar Based on the roman general and dictator, Julius Caesar serves as the comic relief. He frequently misunderstand the situations, and keeps a cheerful mood even when inappropriate.

Napoleon He is based in the french emperor, Napoleon I. He hasn't spoken yet, instead he keeps a quiet and noble attitude.

[edit] Issues

Many strips are based on historical references, but Hitlercito deals also with modern day issues. The comic has dealt with Windows Vista criticism, outsourcing, Prince Charles's lack of popularity, and casual dressing at work. Also the title of the strips make absurd academic references to subjects like game theory, Max Weber, Nicomachean Ethics, the concept of Lebenswelt, and many Latin mottos.
