Hitachi Consulting is an international management and technology consulting firm with headquarters in Dallas, Texas. It was founded in 2000 as subsidary of the Japanese Hitachi Group and currently employs approximately 2,000 people in the U.S., Japan, the UK, Spain, Portugal and Germany.

Hitachi Consulting was founded through the acquisition of Grant Thornton’s consulting branch in November 2000. Since then the company has acquired a number of competitors, such as WaveBend Solutions from BDO Seidman (June 2001), Tactica Technology (November 2001), Aspirity (April 2004), Dove Consulting (August 2005), Impact Plus through the subsidaray Hitachi Consulting UK (April 2007), Iteration2 (June 2007) and JMN Associates (March 2008). After the dissolvment of Arthur Andersen, 23 partners and 370 consultants of Andersen Business Consulting (AABC) also joined the company in June 2002.
The U.S. subsidiary did not go by the name Hitachi Consulting until May 2003. The Japanese Hitachi company Exsurge was renamed in April 2006 accordingly.
Hitachi Consulting Europe (HCE) was founded in March 2006 through the establishment of subsidaries in the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal and most recently Germany. Since November 2005 the firm operates a Global Solution Center in India.

Hitachi Consulting stands in direct competition with consulting firms such as Accenture, BearingPoint, Deloitte or IBM Global Services and focuses on a wide variety of subjects and industries. The company offers solutions in corporate management, customer and channel, strategic technology and supply chain.
35% of the Fortune 100 and 25% of the Global 100 companies are among Hitachi Consulting’s customers. The Firm has strategic alliances with Microsoft (Gold Certified Partner), Oracle (Certified Advantage Partner), SAP (Services Alliance Partner), Lawson and Hyperion.
