Talk:History of the Ryukyu Kingdom

[edit] Should be merged
For the life of me, I can't understand why this article is not included in the Ryukyu Kingdom article. Both are relatively short, and there is a history section in the other article. I really think merger makes sense. Unschool 00:59, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
Actually, the more I look at it, the Ryukyu Kingdom article is little more than history. I will wait 24 hours, then merge them into something more coherent. Unschool 01:16, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Merge with Ryukyu History, not with Ryukyu Kingdom
The "Ryukyu Kingdom" article describes a specific period of history of the Ryukyu Islands, and thus it would seem that the most useful information contained in "History of the Ryukyu Kingdom", i.e. the general ethnic information considering origins and identity of Uchinanchu people, would be out of place in "Ryukyu Kingdom". Perhaps the articles "History of the Ryukyu Kingdom" and "Ryukyu Kingdom" should be merged into "Ryukyuan History", which itself could use some elaboration? Turly-burly 01:22, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Link Comment
The external link noted as the "best" link for this history is hardly the best link, as it is primarily history from the Chinese perspective and lacks a large amount of important information -- that is, most of the specifics of the region's history -- available at other external links provided (and, indeed, available in Wikipedia itself).
