what about a timeline here? I'm not much of a musical buff but maybe somebody who can kind of line up the music by the century? like ...what would have been hip while Freud would have been putting patients on the couch?--dgd

Yep, not a bad idea at all. All the music history pages need work, and I've been meaning to do them for a while now. I'll get round to it one day. Incidentally, Freud put one or two composers on the couch, Gustav Mahler for one. --Camembert
