[edit] Improve or delete

This article has a number of key problems that necessitate that it be improved or deleted. First, it smells of copyright violation... I'm looking into that particular issue. Second, even if not a copyvio, it is very narrow in scope - considering on 19th United States photography while under an ostensibly global title (History and preservation of 19th century photography). The article should, as one tag demands, be corrected to reflect a broader view. Third, the article is bitty, off-topic, and unencyclopedic. Any rewrite needs to take a more text-based, not list-based, approach and to stick to the subjects suggested by the title (e.g. the mention of Flickr.com is well beyond left field). Fourth, several of the references do not link to specific relevant content. These should be replaced or fixed. And that's just a start... On the other hand, it might be better to delete this article altogether since one of its titular subjects is covered in History of photography. The other titular subject, preservation of 19th century [photographs] (better than "photography") is covered in Photograph conservation. Any comments or suggestions?
