History of political thinking

The history of political philosophy can be tracked to antiquity. In ancient Greece, thinkers such as Plato and Aristotle developed ideas of statehood. Confucius developed social philosophies that came to shape China.

Modern ideologies such as conservatism, nationalism, liberalism and socialism were formed during the 19th century, and created ideological clashes of World War 2 and the Cold War.
