[edit] Trivia
- Only hours after the start of the Australian leg of the HIStory World Tour on November 14, 1996, Michael Jackson married Debbie Rowe in a civil ceremony in his presidential suite at the Sheraton on the Park Hotel in Sydney, Australia.
- Many different performances of the HIStory world tour have been broadcasted extensively and some have been released on DVD or VHS. The concert in Munich, in 1997, is among the most commonly seen live performances and has had more extensive coverage with more camera angles filming the audience. The HIStory concert in Seoul, South Korea held in 1996 at "Chamsil Olympic Stadium" was filmed and was commercially released on video cassette in Asia. The Sydney leg of the concert was filmed and aired in Australia in 1997. The 1996 concert in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia was taped and aired by ntv7 and later released on VHS. Other professinally filmed concerts have also been released or broadcasted, such as the ones in Gothenburg, Sweden, Helsinki, Finland, and Auckland, New Zealand. In addition, many amateur home videos exist of many of the other concerts.
- Michael was the first dance-pop artist in history to sell out Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. He performed two sold out shows at the 35,000-capacity venue.
- The opening concert in Czech Republic is the biggest audience Michael Jackson has ever performed for, in his 40-year career.
- During his concert in Parken Copenhagen, Michael Jackson was surprised with a 7 feet tall cake, because it was his 39th birthday (29 August 1997).
- In a similar way to performances of She's out of My Life during the Dangerous Tour, a female audience member would be randomly picked to dance with Jackson for performances of You Are Not Alone, as the latter song replaced the former song for the HIStory Tour.
- During the performance of Earth Song in Seoul, Jackson (who was up on a crane) was interfered by a Korean Man who climbed up the crane just to meet Jackson. The man was then taken away by security after the crane was lowered.
