Talk:Hink-pink

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

IMO, "over-the-shoulder boulder holder" is NOT "Another example of a hinky-pinky--a slightly more intricate one since it uses three consecutive rhymes." as it has 3 syllables which are not part of the rhyme.

a better (valid) example three-word hinky pinky, or hinky tinky pinky, might be

"a cowardly corax expert" - hinky-tinky-pinky would be:"craven raven maven"

Isn't using Homonyms cheating? or is it the point of the game? Crisco 1492 23:02, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Needs improvement

Clue: A Wikipedia article whose tone is too casual. Answer: Hink-pink. My biggest gripe is that there are too many examples of hinkety-pinketies, and it talks about four syllable ones as though they are some sort of enigma. I once thought of one off the top of my head, although I've forgotten about it. I'll try to clean it up though.--Supernerd 10 (talk) 14:06, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] True hink pink

A real hink pink only uses a two word clue, such as:
gruesome tale ~ gory story;
catastrophic illusion ~ tragic magic;
environmental correction ~ pollution solution;

The exception is to use three word clues such as:
protecting Indian heritage ~ reservation preservation
