Welcome to Himgiri Society of Sector 03 at Sanpada, Navi Mumbai - India.
This society was formed way back in Jun 1994 and currently stands as a very well maintained society. It is located very near to Sanpada railway station in sector 03.
Sector has a very big ground where most of us has spent our childhood playing cricket, football etc. Himgiri society is known by its annual function which is conducted every year on the occasion of Republic day. We have society sports a week before republic day followed by a puja and cultural events on republic day.
Himgiri society has a committe appointed to look behind all the needs and entertainment of the people living in the society. Committe is formed by conducting a general election amongst the owners of society who decide to appoint their leaders. This committe is reformed every five years by conducting such elections. Society decesions are always guided by senior citizens like Baikar Baba, Shinde Baba, Lodh Baba, Pilke Baba, Pawar Kaka, Gavas Aba, M.G.Kadam and several more senior citizens. Almost every member of society actively participates for any events and programmes conducted.
Society is also known by a group - 'Sahyadri Mitra Mandal' formed by youths of Himgiri society. This group was started intially by Manish Dhanawde and later Prakash Patankar and Dhananjay Gavas took it over from where Manish Dhanawde has left. Sahyadri Mitra Mandal conducts various events like Deepotsav in festival of Diwali to cricket tournaments covering entertaintment for everybody from society. This group has also specialized itself in trekking by covering the mountain peaks like Kalsubai, Harishchandragad etc and forts like Raigad, Sinhagad etc. Dhananjay manages all outdoor events and ensures no body has any issues with such tours.
All the festivals like Holi, Diwali, Navratri, Ganeshutsov, Dahi-Handi, Id, Christmas etc are celebrated by people togather representating the diverse Indian culture. Society is blessed with people from all religions living togather and sharing all the moments of joy and sorrow. Himgiri society is also blessed with two great Rangoli artist - Prakash Patankar along with his wife Shubhangi. Prakash is known in Sanpada for his Rangoli art and has conducted workshops for Rangoli.
