Rabbi Hillel Possek was a community Rabbi and a leading personality in three different countries: Ukraine, Romania and Israel. He was originated from the very well known Jewish family SHAPIRA and his father, Rabbi Elijah Possek, was one of the most important Rabbis in Ukraine. Except for the fact that Rabbi Hillel Possek composed many halakhic works, he managed to publish his responses before his death and was from the first religious Zionists who came to Israel, established it and shaped its society. Till now many go back to him/his halakhic decisions in clarifying Jewish issues. At least four different encyclopedia's entries were composed on him.
