Talk:Higher National Diploma
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I want to know whether the HND can be used as a enitial to put next to your name. Some BTEC qualifications allow this.
- Yep - at the end of your name - basically anything above a high school diploma can be used as such - once their is a tradition or custom. Djegan 21:48, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

- So, in the UK any qualification above AVCE or an A-level can be put as an enitial next to the qualifiers name?
-
-
- It depends on the particulars of each qualification but certainly HNC, HND and Fd are post-nominal letters - on a fundemental level it is a matter of custom and tradition and any awards body could give the specifics of what is accepted. Djegan 09:56, 1 October 2005 (UTC)

- I find this very interesting, thanks for your help. I will be back and forth here now and again.

[edit] grading
Just want to know, like with most courses when you get an overall grade, do you get an overall grade with the HND?
-
- The HND does not contain an overall grade, if you enter a degree with a HND, the entry would go by all the individual modules passed on your final year. If you get Merits all around on a final year of the HND you will be able to do a second year of a degree. Amlder20 16:37, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] HND
You do not need a HNC to study the HND, the HNC is actually the HND but part timed.
