Highway 22 (Hebrew: כביש 22‎) is a partially built suburban freeway in the Haifa metropolitan area. The freeway is currently 4 km long, connecting downtown Haifa with the city's northern exit to the Krayot area.

When completed, the freeway will be 17 km long, bypassing the Krayot and providing a much needed alternative route to Highway 4. Also, some of the existing interchanges will be improved to connect to the Carmel Tunnels and to provide a direct connection to Highway 75.

The highway is divided into two parts:

  • The Kishon Road is a 5 km long urban section from Hiram interchange in downtown Haifa to Yigael Yadin interchange. The first stage of the Kishon Road was built by Haifa's municipal "Yafe Nof" company and opened in 2005. The next stage will include the construction of Yigael Yadin Interchange as well as the connections to the Carmel Tunnels and Highway 75.
  • The Krayot Bypass is a 12 km long suburban section bypassing the Krayot area. There have been plans to create an alternative road to the congested Haifa - Acre road since the 1970's, however financial and bureaucratic issues prevented these plans from being realized. Today most of the issues of land voidance are solved, and the freeway is planned to be built by the National Roads Authority, possibly as a PFI or BOT project.
