Highcliffe School is a Foundation school for students aged 11-19 and a specialist Language College situated in Highcliffe-on-Sea in the borough of Christchurch, Dorset in southern England.

The school features a new £4,000,000 technology block, up-to-date ICT and science departments, and Plasma TV screens all around the school for displaying messages and announcements, as well as recent news.

The school now shares a sixth form college with nearby schools: Twynham (Christchurch) and the Grange (Somerford).

Building work has recently finished on a Fitness Suite, which PE students have access to, containing high quality Fitness Training Machines, weights, and other similar machines.

The school Music Department also has access to a Technology Room, which contains computers loaded with Cubase music programs, and Sibelius (computer program), a musical score-writing program. It also features keyboards connected to these computers, acting as speakers and MIDI-input devices.

For students, notices are posted there, such as news about the school. Some of the features included for students are:

  • The ability to access school files from home.
  • The ability to access the student's timetable and print it off.
  • The ability to access the student's locker combination.
  • The ability to view the student's reports.
  • The ability to view the student's merits and achievements to date.
  • The ability to access the 'Highcliffe Challenge', a school-wide challenge which involves students, upon completion of certain extra-curricular activities and achievements, emailing evidence of this to relevant teachers. If the teacher agrees with the students contribution, the specified task will be 'confirmed'. Each Keystage (3, 4, or 5) has its own tasks, and also its own number of tasks required to complete the challenge. Upon completion of the relevant challenges, a successful student will receive a badge and a certificate.
  • The ability to view homework details posted by their subject teachers.
