[edit] Sink Hole

The whole sinkhole story seems really out of place. What are the arguements for retaining it? I can understand a sentence, but to devote a whole paragraph to an episode that occured 5 years ago seems odd. Maybe append it to Hickory's history or something? I asked the same question in an edit summary[1] a while back, then forgot about it until I saw your comment on my watchlist. I recommend ditching it, especially since there are no references cited to support it. (Even if there were, it would only merit a sentence at most). --A. B. 20:52, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notable Residents

I'm not sure how notable some of these residents really are, but I cleaned up the section and put it together as a list. The only ones I removed from the original paragraph were vague references to famous relatives without the actual resident's name. --Derek 19:10, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

    • It's somewhat amazing the number of folks who think adding their name or their friends' names to this list makes them notable. It's tempting to remove the list altogether in order to stop encouraging them.   • Just doin' my part! I agree that the 'Notable Residents' category seems to be a magnet for misuse. I'm going to check t some entries for similar size cities and see if they even include this. Malco23 16:51, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Image:Hkylogopf2.png is being used on this article.
