Heterochromis multidens is a monotypic species of fish from the family Cichlidae in the subfamily Heterochromidinae.[1] The species is endemic to the Congo basin in Zaire in Central Africa. The genus is likely more closely related to other neotropical cichlids, than other African cichlids.[2]
