Talk:Herräng Dance Camp
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page needs lots more information - I'll add bits and pieces as I have time.
Interesting things about Herrang:
- teachers and students mix as equals during the camp (which is unusual in the swing world)
- the camp uses a school and other community buildings in the village - hence the concerns that the camp might close if the school was closed in 2007
- the camp includes many other activities beyond dancing - regular meeting with performances; 'cultural activities' day; etc
- it has its own sauna, cafe, bar, dining room and ice cream shop and has wireless internet access
- the actual scale of the camp needs to be discussed - the sheer amount of space taken up by dancers
- the living accomodations are unique and worth discussing
- some discussion of private classes and the free 'taster' classes would be interesting
- some reference to Herrang as the most important camp in contemporary swing culture would be useful PlainJane 06:47, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] History
Can someone please paraphrase the history that has been copied into the wiki? Obviously the text that's been copied over from the HDC website shouldn't be there but is right now for reference purposes. apanda 19:59, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- Just altering the wordings in a copyvio text does not change the fact that the material is originally copyvio. Please use the information on the official web site [1] and/or other sources to write a new orginal text to make up a history section; until that is done we'll have to do without. // habj 04:58, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
