Talk:Heracleon

"Though conspicuously uniting faith in Christ with spiritual maturity, there are evidences that, like other Valentinians, Heracleon did not sufficiently emphasize abstinence from the moral laxity and worldliness into which his followers fell." This is based on the hearsay of proto-orthodox heresiologists, and is completely uncertain. Writings available from the Nag Hammadi library, such as the Gospel of Truth and the Gospel of Philip, refute such claims entirely, showing Valentinian Gnostics to be much more ascetic than worldly.
