Page based on information at my website www.thrale.com. The information I submitted here is now PD. David Thrale 14:07 3 Jul 2003 (UTC)

I have reverted the birth date to 1724-1730. A full authoritative review of the conflicting evidence about his birth is available on page 2 of Leee Morgan's 1998 book "Dr Johnson's 'Own Dear Master' - The life of Henry Thrale". If you want to change the birth date, please provide more authoritative evidence. David Thrale 23:19, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "According to all reports"

The speculation that Hester did not love her husband may have originated from the fact that she was of significantly higher social status than Thrale, and often eclipsed him at social events due to her family's pedigree. This, according to all reports, infuriated Thrale at certain times and may have led to an awkward relationship between the two during the public events.

. I'd like to ask what basis is there for the above claim? Whilst genealogically correct, what basis is there for the claim according to all reports. Can you cite any? David Thrale (talk) 23:12, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
