Intellectual Dishonesty

I, for one, am awaiting a public appearance of Henry Paulson to fully discount rumors of his death / murder. Until then, I withhold judgment. I believe many of you are being intellectually dishonest by suppressing information about his arrest and / or death. It is not possible for us to know the truth truth, only what sources tell us, and in politics, those sources almost always provide only partial information, spin, or half-truths. It is intellectually dishonest to keep removing information about his arrest / death from his page. It should be listed under a controversies heading until it is demonstrably proven either way. For his arrest, it may never be shown beyond doubt. For his death, the controversy is over next time he appears in public. Until then, I have to question the intent, bias, and intellectual honesty of those who keep suppressing the subjects. Chaos Motor (talk) 19:57, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

One day after you posted this, Paulson himself made a public appearance at the Capitol. So there you go... I'd say that's proof that as of 1/5/08 he was in fact alive. He's made many public appearances since then too. 75.70.123.215 (talk) 03:37, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

real discussion

since paulson has only been a admin person and not a real deal person throughout his entire career, does he know anything about markets at all except the buzz words ???? meaning he is an apparent paper qualified person for the job but in fact is a stooge with little knowledge.

One wonders what the USA could have been if Rubin, Paulson knew enough about the US economy to contribute anything instead of being a do nothing appointment. So Paulson nomination follows in that fine traditional Goldman Sachs mold of lacklusterness.

Some years ago Gus Levy of Goldman Sachs followed more recently by John Whitehead were actual real contributing persons vs the deadbeat, stooge roll of this listed bevy.

Rubin was esp noteworthy for triggering near collapses in 5 separate international currencies by utter, bizare ineptitude for a US Secretary of the Treasury. The Rubin style -

1) have Wall street pals & and your firm viciously attack the currency to create 1st a faux, then a real crisis, knocking the currency down 15-30% 2) then announce loudly & publically that there would be no US Aid to support the currency in crisis, usually knocking that currency further down 50-60% 3) then bail out resulting collapsing positions caused by Wall Street pals for huge profits by switcherooing to massive US Aid.

This Ruben psychotic management of global currency crises were crises for the following:

Thai Baht [Detail of the "Rubin style" - to set up fake currency crises]

Indonesian rupiah/rupee/ruppee [[http://www.nimbupani.com/blog/blog-entry/asian-financial-crisis-1997.html Crisis in Indonesian rupiah / rupee which fell 80% v. the US dollar ]]

Argentian peso [Argentine Peso Crisis of 2001]

Russian ruble [1998 Russian ruble collapse] Of course as mentioned, instead of near or perfect insanity, the above Rubin sytle could be thought of as a "playbook" to make billions for your "former" firm on Wall Street.

And / or it could be viewed as a US policy targeting and even profiteering on weaker 3rd world countries, led by Secretary of US Treasury. BUT, the massive mushroom cloud of US Debt rapidly increasing by Iraq war and out of control other spending (not even 100s of billions but trillions) makes this strip mining of very small $10s of billions from 3rd world, a sorry sad policy that torpedoes the lives of millions of the poor. I doubt that reputable sources will be found the support the above heavily-biased-POV comments. Indeed, most comments are just the opposite, such as this Bloomberg report, or this from the Chi Tribune.

most all top 6 Wall Street firm ceos , admin types are these drone types with no real knowledge - as e.g. 4 of top 6 firms ceos - Stan O'Neill ceo Merril Lynch, Don Marron, retired ceo of UBS Paine Webber, Phil Purcell ousted ceo of Morgan Stanley; any person with any real knowledge of any of those leaders including Paulson of the top 4 of the recognized top 6 leading firms knows they are all drones... the only 2 with any real experience, are Mack now again at Morgan Stanley, and Fuld at Lehman Bros ... pls distinguish arz lapping Admin types from the real deal doers who would never take such a drone job ... ever.

Starting date?

The article now says He began in the position on July 3, 2006, when Snow's resignation took effect. But this article (and others) says that he won't be sworn in until Monday, July 10th. Isn't the swearing-in date the "beginning" date? John Broughton 00:19, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

GSCI index adjusted

On July 12 (two days after Paulson was sworn in), Goldman Sachs announced changes to it's GSCI commodities index which eventually contributed to a large decline in the price of gasoline [2] which is widely seen as favorable for incumbant republicans in the runup to the November 2006 elections.

Critics?

I've noticed these unsourced criticisms of Paulson for sometime and they bother me considering the libelous nature. Until they are proven with reliable sources I move the text I removed stay here:

Sounds like nonsense. There is no reason "mainstream media" would sit on a story like this. The only information I found on Paulson related to an arrest was from 1969. --MZMcBride 17:04, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Carpet9, why are you only willing to accept confirmation from sources least willing to confirm it? Do you also dispute Rumsfeld's flight from Germany on threat of imminent arrest? During WWII, Vidkund Quisling, worked actively to aid the Nazi takeover of Norway, leading to the use of his name quisling to denote a person who is an active, willing traitor.

Please review the multiple trips of Paulson to China that resulted in the sellout of his former firm Goldman Sach's competitors to the Chinese Sovereign Fund (China Investment Fund)(Morgan Stanley) and to the Citic Securities Firm (Bear Stearns)- China government controlled stooge entities.

Assassination of Henry Paulson by Chinese Secret Society

Pulled this off the page:

Unverified Internet rumors claim that Paulson died 1-2-2008 from gun shot wounds. Although unlikely to be true it has been spread to many places on the web.

because it was not even referenced. so list the sites, and don't say "unlikely to be true" - why is it unlikely? or likely? just leave it as the first sentence, with a reference to some of those sites - actually if you check around you'll find it is only ONE site that has made the claim. As far as I know, the Prince Charles thing was pre-taped (i.e it wasn't live). I'm not saying that that happened in this Paulson case, and of course I think he's still alive. I'm just pointing out that the hologram thing is (vaguely) plausible... Cryomaniac (talk) 22:06, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
