Henry Ferne

Henry Ferne (1602 York – March 16, 1662 Chester) was awarded a D.D. in 1643. He became Chaplain Extraordinary to Charles I; Master of Trinity College, Cambridge from 1660-1662; Dean of Ely, 1662[?]; Bishop of Chester, February 1662, and died five weeks after his consecration on the 16th March. He wrote many controversial pamphlets and was one of those who attacked James Harrington's book The Commonwealth of Oceana (1656).
