Henry Black (rakugoka)

Henry James Black (1858–1923) was a kabuki actor and Japan's only foreign-born rakugoka, or public storyteller, performing under the name Kairakutei Black (快楽亭ブラック Kairakutei Burakku?). He was also known by the name Ishii Black (石井貎刺屈).[1] His father was J. R. Black, singer and publisher of several newspapers in Japan, including The Far East.[2]
