If Helichyrsum is the same plant called the strawflower, then it is also popularly know as the everlasting or immortelle. Some aromatherapists consider Helichrysum to be anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory. So it is often used for treating sunnurn, rashes, bruises, rosacea, acne, and other skin irritations. It is often combined with other essential oils for healing and therapeutic blends.

Is there any scientific basis for these claims?

[edit] Use in herbal tea

This website says it's used in Arabic nations as a component of an herbal tea called zahraa. Is that accurate? Badagnani 15:51, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

On Reunion Island I spotted a plant that some books and sites classify as Helichrysum heliotropifolium, yet this name does not appear in the list... David.Monniaux 20:08, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
