Helpgame was an internet game about The Beatles that acted also as a chat room.
[edit] Gameplay
Helpgame, similar to Habbo Hotel, involved a character you customarily made to gather three other characters to go into another world as Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison. Your objective from there was to gather your own instruments while avoiding enemies such as the Blue Meanies. There were four areas, each with a certain person's instrument. The bass can be found in the Yellow Submarine, the acoustic guitar can be found in a hedge maze, the drums can be found in Abbey Road Studios, and the electric guitar can be found on a ski run. Other instruments can be found as well, although they had no real purpose. When you got an instrument, it would play a clip of a Beatles song:
- Bass - beginning of Come Together
- Acoustic Guitar - beginning of Blackbird
- Drums - beginning of Why Don't We Do It In The Road?
- Electric Guitar - beginning of Helter Skelter
- French Horn - segment of For No One
- Harp - beginning of Good Night
- Horn - segment of Drive My Car
Other Items:
- Key - segment of Revolution 9
Once the four Beatles collected their own instrument, they went to a stage, where the Beatles would play a random song of their own.
[edit] Closing
Eventually, the game had a glitch where it would have the maximum occupancy of 40/40 people, so no one could play. A few months after that, the domain helpgame.net was sold to another site.
