Hello! Sandybell (ハロー!サンディベル Haro! Sandiberu?) is an anime series made by Toei Animation in 1981. It was aired in Japan by TV Asahi.

Similarly to Silver Fang, the show is relatively unknown in the U.S. but was quite popular in Europe, particularly Scandinavia.

[edit] Plot

Hello! Sandybell is the story of a young happy girl who lives in Scotland with her father. She spends her time playing with her faithful dog (Oliver) and her friends. One day she gets to meet the Countess of Willington, a good-hearted rich lady living in the castle near their village. She also meets Kitty, an arrogant rich young lady who lives in the big mansion outside their village.

The Countess gives Sandybell a white lily and she plants it outside the village. She also brings other flowers and plants them around the lily, making a small garden of flowers around it. Sandybell loves the lily very much because it reminds her of her dead mother. Kitty hates Sandybell and continues to visit the Countess in the hope of winning the love and interest of the Countess herself. Sandybell has a minivan that she drives for her mini business and travel.

Sandybell never gets to see her mother whom she keeps looking for, she keeps her hopes up that she will meet her mom someday. In the final few episodes, she does! Anyhow, Sandybell couldn't convince her that she was her daughter because her mother lost her memory.

It turns out, while Sandybell's family were on a trip in the middle of the ocean when Sandybell was an infant, the ship sank and Sandybell was separated from her mother but was saved with other people and her dad on a rescue boat. At the same day, her mother woke up on the beach without any memories.

At the time Sandybell meets her mother, a young kid falls into the water and Sandy saves his life. At this point flashbacks strike her mother's brain and she starts to remember everything. The show ends at about that time.
