[edit] Welcome

Hello, Headwes, and Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. We hope that you like this place and decide to stay.

Here are some helpful tips for newcomers:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. This can be accomplished by typing three tildes (~~~) after your comments. If you use four, you can add the date and time too. If you know HTML, you can customize your signature by clicking the "my preferences" link at the top of the page. Always sign your comments on talk pages. Never sign articles.
  • You may want to create a user page. You can use this page to tell other users about yourself, make a list of the articles you've contributed to, add links to websites you like, and for testing wiki markup. If you're not sure where to begin, try picking out some userboxes for yourself to get started. If you do not wish to have a user page, then please redirect it to your user talk page (here) rather than leaving it blank. This will save everybody an extra click ;-).
  • Check out the manual of style to see how wiki markup works. Don't worry, it's not that hard to learn!
  • Always remember to fill in the edit summary field when editing articles.
  • If you are not a native speaker of English, check out this page.
  • If you have a specific area of interest or expertise, consider joining a WikiProject about it.

[edit] Coquille River Light

Thanks for adding the final lighthouse article for Oregon! If you're interested in Oregon stuff be sure to check out WikiProject Oregon. Happy editing! Katr67 16:21, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Audiophile

Speaking as a long-time reader of (and occasional contributor to) audiophile magazines, I have seen large amounts of evidence that both of the assertions you just removed are in fact true. I've had trouble finding on-line references. I haven't been doing that much editing recently; perhaps you could point me at a page that provides guidance on acceptable standards for references. I wouldn't have much trouble providing issue/page numbers from audiophile magazines in support of the assertions (which aren't assertions of fact, just of what audiophiles believe). I'm wondering if that would be acceptable. Tim Bray 21:29, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Naturopathic Medicine

Please take the time to read the discussion page before making controversial edits. There is already a thread on the topic. As a fellow Portlander and supporter of all things sustainable and renewable, I am surprised you aren't supportive of this truly sustainable medicine... If you want to work together to make the article better, let me know. Also let me know if you want a tour of the campus and sit-in on some classes... [edit] Mt. Jefferson pic

Hey, I was wondering from where the picture of Mt. Jefferson from the Cascade Range was taken. Looks like the north face of the mountain, Jefferson park area maybe. DumberDrummer (talk) 15:04, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Right you are! Here's the exact location. -- Headwes (talk) 01:39, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Asian fetish

"Prostitution in Thailand and Prostitution in the Philippines is largely supported by men with asian fetish.[citation needed] " I believe you are requesting citation for one of my updates to fix the many deletes that people, who have been banned and warned by administrators, who have been making many attempts to make asian "FETISH" into meaning only asian "PREFERENCE" despite the fact that the term itself does not even mean preference. Can you please clarify what part of the sentence are you requesting citation for? I am shocked that I need citation as I thought that the existence of sex tourism in asia that largely caters to western men was common knowledge. Are you asking for citation that these westerner have asian fetish? or the fact that westerners are supporting such an industry? For the later that would be an issue you probably want to take up on the referenced page, Prostitution in Thailand and Prostitution in the Philippines. I can copy the content from these reference page if you choose not to read them. for the former I have citation but felt that once again this was common knowledge but if you are challenging it then I will put it in. There are many many sources on the external and internal reference pages that talks about the sex tourism trade in the context of asian fetish. Tkguy (talk) 16:43, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Friendly 3RR Reminder from Luke

Watch the 3RR. There are plenty of users who disagree with Tkguy. No need to revert him yourself all the time. Cool Hand Luke 05:57, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

I think I'm okay on that, but just barely. Thanks a bunch for the reminder. - Headwes (talk) 06:02, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Opinion wanted on ANI

I would value your contribution at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Proposed community topic ban for User:Tkguy on Asian fetish. Cool Hand Luke 06:19, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
