Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation

The Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation (HQAA) was developed following the USA's Medicare Modernization Act of 2003.

The HQAA a US-based option to the Joint Commission. [1]

The basic ethos of the organisation is to provide an accreditation option specifically designed with the durable medical equipment (DME) business in mind.

It has been awarded Medicare deemed Status for DME accreditation. [2]

"To define, assist and ensure that demonstration of high standards of quality and business practices exist in durable medical equipment organizations. HQAA will deem companies certified in practicing industry quality standards, and provide continuous support in the achievement and maintenance of those standards in order to ensure consistent integrity within the DME industry".
