Hauteclere

Hauteclere (or Halteclere, or Hauteclaire, literally "High and lightning", or "high and loud") is the sword of Olivier, a character in the French epic, "The Song of Roland". It is described as being of burnished steel, with a crystal embedded in a golden hilt.
The novella Le bonheur dans le crime by Jules Barbey d'Aurevilly features a female character whose father, a fencing teacher, named her "Hauteclaire" in honor of this sword.
