Taken by me from just above the Peak House on Te Mata Peak Road. The road in the foreground (lower center) is Hikanui Drive, the houses on the bottom of the screen are the multi-million-dollar mansions of Te Mata Peak Road.

The town in the center is Havelock North, with Heretaunga Street leading north to Hastings (the grid-aligned city).

The road continues on to Flaxmere in the upper left corner. The mountains in the background are the Kaweka Ranges and the flat area is the Heretaunga Plains.
