James Barrett Lamb (1919 – 29 February 2000) was a Canadian newspaperman who became well-known both for his accounts of his war-time experiences in the Royal Canadian Navy and for an editorial he wrote in 1964 entitled The Canada I Love: An Unfashionable Testament, which became one of the most famous Canadian editorials of the 20th Century.

"Jim" Lamb was born in Toronto in 1919. When he was studying at Oakwood Collegiate Institute in York, Ontario he was a fan of Gordon Sinclair, the globe-trotting reporter for the Toronto Star, which motivated hime to work on the staff of the school paper, the Oracle.
